I received my Netgear R7800 X4S in early December and didn't waste more than an hour on the stock firmware. If you put the c7000 in bridge mode and run the r7000 as the only router, everything would go through the vpn. If you leave the c7000 as a modem/router combo device and run the r7000 as a router as well, it'll put you in a double nat and potentially could cause issues but potentially you could use the device going through the r7000 as vpn and the rest of the devices hooked to the c7000 as standard. According to the DD-WRT website, it doesn't list my R7800 router in their Router database. I only found a compatible version in another community thread that said (see below), but when I look at the database, my R7800 is not listed. So it has me questioning whether it is legit.
